Folkingham is an important former town which deserves to be better known. This major new work aims to address that by offering an in-depth study of the settlement's 1500 year history, from Anglo-Saxon times to today.
It offers new interpretations and ideas on Folkingham's development together with new primary research.
Running to 320 pages, it is illustrated with over 260 photographs, maps and illustrations, with many of the photos being of rare historic views. It is presented as a generous crown quarto volume measuring 189 x 246mm.
Martin R. Smith is a local historian who has worked for the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments and at Stamford Museum, where he developed a series of town trails. He has had several Lincolnshire titles published, including The Story of Stamford, Stamford Pubs & Breweries, Stamford Myths & Legends and Stamford Then & Now.
